MİXED XYLENE

Xylene is a clear and colorless liquid consisting of two methyl groups attached to a benzene ring. It is volatile and has a distinctive smell. Depending on the position of the methyl component, xylene has three isomers: ortho-, meta- and para-xylene. The industry term for the three as well as ethylbenzene is mixed xylene.
Applications :
Mixed xylene is used as solvent for paint and pesticide. It is also a raw material for orthoxylene (phthalic anhydride), metaxylene (isophthalic acid), paraxylene (terephthalic acid) and ethylbenzene (styrene monomer).
Precautions for users :
Mixed xylene is a highly flammable and toxic liquid requiring the utmost care to prevent fire and leakage. Anyone who handles mixed xylene must fully understand and observe the "material safety data sheet (MSDS)" and wear appropriate protective gear.
